CoDesign Problem Solving Workshop and Roadshow
Wednesday 30th November 2005
Hadley Group, Gaitskell Way, Sandwell
Tired with sitting in a row of seats being lectured to by those who have "read the book" but never been at the sharp end?
Then its time to attend a CoDesign Workshop that delivers lifelong learning from fellow automotive manufacturers real people, real problems, real solutions from the experts who know your business. Effective problem solving is not rocket science but it is vital to business success, especially in the commercially "driven" automotive manufacturing supply market.
Using appropriate techniques and basic tools is fundamental to such success, as is an insightful understanding of which techniques to apply to each individual scenario.

Lean Workshop
Thursday 24th November
Arvin Mertior, 2 Enfield Industrial Estate, Redditch, B97 6BH
Being fit is not enough. Modern companies need to reduce all unecessary activities and costs in order to maximise productive output and get the most out of their physical and human resources.
Lean can be applied to production, engineering, R&D, "back- office" activities and all other aspects of a company. It is aimed at the elimination of waste in every area of production including customer relations, product design, supplier networks and factory management.
Its goal is to incorporate less human effort, less inventory, less time to develop products, and less space to become highly responsive to customer demand while producing top quality products in the most efficient and economical manner possible.
Experienced practitioners will lead the course through lean tools and techniques relevant to your buisness and workplace. Get Lean and Fit for competetive buisness.

Learning to use FMEA
Wednesday 2nd November 2005
Arvin Meritor, 2 Enfield Industrial Estate, Redditch, B97 6BH
Calling all engineers and managers learn how to design-out failures and produce reliable, safe and "customer pleasing" products for just one day of your time!
With customers placing increasing demands on companies for high quality, reliable products it is vital that these two "given" requirements are incorpo- rated as early as possible in the development cycle. The more traditional route is the use of costly extensive testing and pro-balistic reliability modelling much later in the game.
An obvious option is the adoption of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) a methodology for analysing potential reliability problems early in the development cycle when it is easier to take actions to rectify problems thus enhancing reliability through design.
This workshop, supported by the European Social Fund, is an excellent opportunity to learn how to use FMEA early and consistently in the design process.
